You May Continue but Cartridges Are Not Calibrated

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way

Follow the steps below and check if that resolves the issue:

Method 1:
I would suggest you to try the steps under the section "Calibrate your display" to perform color calibration in Windows 10. Check if it helps.

" Get the best display on your monitor "
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/get-best-display-monitor

Method 2:
Install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps. If Windows 10 drivers are not available in the computer manufacturer website, you may install the latest display drivers in compatibility mode.

To install the display driver in compatibility mode, I would suggest you to follow these steps.

a. Download the latest display driver for Windows 10 from the manufacturer's website and save it on your local disk.
b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select " Properties ".
c. Select " Compatibility " Tab.
d. Place a check mark next to " Run this program in Compatibility mode " and select Windows 8 from the drop down list.
e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Hope the information helps. Please let us know if the issue persist and we will be happy to assist you further.

ummm.. thanks for replying but that doesn't answer any of my questions. I already said i was looking at theCalibrate display color tool in windows 10, i even provided a link showing what it was. I need to know if its possible to go back and reset it after messing with the gamma in the calibration tool if i later decide i dont like the new setting. When you get to the end it just gives you the option to keep the old setting or use the new one. If i change it can i go back and reload the old one later? Will the 'reset' button on the gamma slider reset to the default or just to what it had been changed to?

This is important because I need to know i can go back to the default setting if i dont like the changes i made

anyone? I need to know if i go back after changing it and mess with the reset button it will let me reset to default, not just the new gamma setting. That or if theres a restore default option at all. I dont want to change it and decide i dont like it then have no way to go back

Hi,

I understand your concern in this regard.

Let confirm that the Calibrate display color settings will take you till end with you selection and choices. And at the end of the settings, it will give you two options as Previous Calibration (I.e. Default settings) and Current Calibration (I.e. Changes made as per your requirement).

You can switch between the two options Previous Calibration and Current Calibration to compare the difference with your Screen brightness & clarity before and now. Then by clicking Finish will save your selection and by clicking Cancel will reset Calibration settings to their default.

Hope this will address your query.

Yes, i knew that at the end it lets you go back and forth between previous calibration and the new one. The question is after i click finish,  if after using the new setting for a day or so i decide its too bright/dark, can i go back to the system default? Most programs have a 'default' button that will let you put the slider or setting back to its original state. If i go back after changing it will the reset button under the gamma slider put it to the original setting, or just back to whatever i had changed it to?

I need to know if i can go back to what the original setting was AFTER i change and save it.

Giving this a bump since i seemed to get just generic answers that didn't even read the question:

Anyone have an answer? Its a pretty simple question. Once you change the gamma slider in the windows calibrate display color/display color calibration settings, if you later change your mind and go back  can you reset it to the default or not? Or will the new 'reset' be whatever you had changed it to?

guess i'll answer my own question since no one else seems able to. I tested it on an old computer. It seems every time you go to the gamma correction page it resets to the middle. So if you crank it way high then save, then go back and run the program again, it will go to the default gamma again. Just posting this in case anyone else searches about this
